Paul Biedermann

24 year-old German swimmer from Halle and the current 200 and 400 metre freestyle long course world champion.

On July 28, 2009 he claimed his second gold in the 200 m freestyle, defeating Michael Phelps in a world record time of 1:42.00 seconds and cutting more than four seconds off of his time since last year.

Biedermann won the 200 m freestyle long course in the 2008 European Aquatics Championships final.

He also holds the long course and short course world records in these events.

25 year-old Canadian Diver

He first came to public attention at the 1998 Commonwealth Games with an extremely impressive gold medal on the 10 metre platform (which included an unprecedented score of perfect 10s). He was only 13 years old at the time, and the achievement was recorded in the Guinness Book Of World Records 2000.

At the Beijing Olympics in 2008, he claimed a silver medal in the 3m springboard event and finished in 5th place in the 3m synchro event.
